Tasting Box June 2016 Review
Hello foodies! Summer is finally here! I hope everyone is having an awesome time enjoying the weather! As always, I enjoy receiving this cute red box mainly because I like tasting new snacks and especially because a meal is donated with each purchase. If you are interested in this month’s tasting box check out this post to see what I got in my June 2016 unboxing and what you could get if you decide to sign up.
I love receiving this cute red box! It comes nicely sealed in a clear plastic and it’s easy to open! This subscription provides information about the company, ingredients, and a mini description for each snack. I love that they highlight major key factors for each snack so you can quickly scroll to see if the snack is: Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan, Organic, or all of the mentioned. I received a total of 8 snacks this month. Now onto the snack review!
- Snapz, Original Crunchy Premium Apple Crisps
Dairy-free, Gluten-free, and Vegan
These contain only 2 ingredients! Organic apples and a drop of lemon juice! These are soft and slightly chewy, kind of sweet with a tang from the citrus. Rate: 3.5/5
2. Snack Factory, Original Pretzel Crisps
Vegan, Dairy-free, and Non-GMO
I’m not a huge pretzel fan, unless they are covered in chocolate. Surprisingly these were really good! They are thin and easy to eat and I didn’t feel the need to wash it down with a drink. The flatness of this pretzel is great for layering on toppings if you want to spruce up a party. Rate: 4/5
3. Biscottea, Traditional Teatime Shortbread
These are so good! Buttery and light, not too hard or soft. It melts nicely in your mouth. Mine came broken, but still yummy! Rate: 4/5
4. Raw Rev Glo, Creamy Peanut Butter & Sea Salt Bar
Gluten-free, Vegan, Dairy-free, and Non-GMO
This was a bit too greasy for my liking and it didn’t look appetizing. Although I will say that it has excellent ingredients and much healthier than your average protein bar. Not something I would reach for but a great alternative if you are searching for something like this. Rate: 3/5
5. Sinfully Thin, Blue Corn Popcorn
Dairy-free, Gluten-free, and Vegan
I don’t really like popcorn, I know, who doesn’t like popcorn? For some reason I really enjoyed this one! Maybe because it has a hint of blue color to it and it makes it more appealing. Whatever the reason, this one tasted yummy! Rate: 4/5
6. Torie & Howard, Fruit Chews
Non-GMO, Organic, Gluten-free, and Dairy-free
These remind me of Starburst but not as sweet, the texture is lighter and not as chewy. Love that there is a better option if you like these sort of soft chews. These were good but I would’ve enjoyed a different flavor. Rate: 3.5/5
7. You Love Fruit, Fruit Leather Key Lime
Non-GMO, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Vegan, and Organic
I received these in a different flavor and loved them! I really enjoyed this flavor too! These are an excellent alternative to ones filled with artificial flavors and colors. All the ingredients in these are great. Loved eating this and I would not feel guilty giving this to my child to have as a snack/treat! Rate: 4.5/5
Overall: My top 3 snacks this month were: Biscottea Shortbread, You Love Fruit Leather, and Blue Corn Popcorn. I love that this snack subscription isn’t too pricey, includes healthier alternatives, and I get to discover new snacks. I highly recommend this subscription if you are looking for a healthier snack alternative or if you are looking to give back to the community, each box purchased helps feed someone in need.
